Sobar - Mocktails

The idea for Sobar began in Florida when we saw a HUGE, pulsating beach volleyball party with over 1000 people.  It was an alcohol-free event and I thought why not bring this vibe and excitement to events in my community? The event fermented (get it) for a few years and one evening while attending a concert at Merriweather Post Pavillion, it gelled.  I was at a beautiful bar and my options as a non-drinker were soda, Red Bull, or creating a “mocktail” in my head and asking a bartender to prepare it. I envisioned

•    Beautiful bars serving non-alcoholic beverages with healthy ingredients, innovative, sophisticated flavors and exciting tastes;
•    A separate point of purchase for events serving alcohol to remove a potential trigger for people in recovery from alcohol use disorder and addiction; and
•    Creating exciting alcohol-free events.

Sobar was launched in 2017

Mockarita Notes of Lime, quinine and acacia flower lift from the glass enticing you in. On the palate the sour citrus notes of lime and orange zest lead onto more complex almost saline notes again hinting on quinine and acacia. The finish is refreshingly tart and leaves your pallet dry and thirsty for more! 

Espresso Martini A rich espresso with light brown crema foam head. Aromas of sweet coffee and vanilla burst from the glass. On the palate bitter coffee notes dance with sweet vanilla and mocha notes, with a long silky smooth finish.

Mockscow Mule  Aromas of lemon peel and spice notes of fresh ginger explode from the glass. On the palate the ginger starts off on the sweeter ginger side and blends nicely with notes of freshly squeezed lemon and apple. The finish is long and powerful with a fiery ginger kick.

Sansgria Blackcurrant and blackberry notes vie for attention with notes of clove and orange peel coming through too. On the palate there is an earthy quality and tannin grip that dries your mouth like a fine wine. On the finish the blackberry and bitter orange notes come back to the fore for a satisfying and compelling close.
